Cletus Clay

Company: TunaSnax (Sheffield, S. Yorks United Kingdom)
Game Website: http://www.tunasnax.com

Description:
Cletus Clay™ is a side-scrolling action platform game emphasising fast-paced, over-the-top fighting action with plenty of humour. It tells the story of a mountain man who gets all riled up when a fleet of alien saucers invade his property. The game uses a combination of traditional clay animation and 3d graphics techniques to give it a unique visual style.

Cletus Clay™ is reminiscent of classic run-and-gun platform games like Contra and Metal Slug, but since the players have no default weapon they must also fight hand-to-hand and improvise with whatever they pick up along the way. The gameplay is fast-paced and intense, with an emphasis on setting record scores and fast times as well as progressing through the story. It can be played in single player or two-player co-op, and also includes numerous unlockable mini-games and collectables to find.

All of the game's graphics were created using traditional stop-motion clay animation, which was then extruded into 3d meshes. This gives the models a true feeling of volume and allows the use of cutting-edge graphics techniques such as dynamic shadow-casting. The result is the closest thing to a real clay-animated movie ever seen in a video game.

Coil

Company: From The Depths (Santa Cruz, Ca United States)
Game Website: http://edmundm.com/coil/

Description:
Coil

Coil is an experimental "art" game that plays out more like a song or painting then an actual "game". I was basically trying to create an experience that put the player into an open minded space and let them question not only what the game was about, but what a game can actually be.

The game is best experienced without any direction or description and was designed to be something people would stumble across without knowing anything about it. If you haven't played coil yet please dont read the spoiler and play the game first. if you get stuck or want to know more about the game then by all means read it. i just personally think you will get more out of what i was trying to do if you play the game from an untainted perspective.

Controls:
Coil uses mouse movements only, no keys or clicking is involved at all.

Cortex Command

Company: Data Realms, LLC (Phoenix, AZ United States)
Game Website: http://www.cortexcommand.com

Description:
In Cortex Command, you play as a prospector and explorer in a time where complete cybernetics and whole-body amputations are common practice. Your severed brain is able to control many different types of bodies remotely from its underground bunker: clones, robots, spaceships, defensive turrets, and so on.

A typical scenario starts with a building phase where you get to construct your own bunker complex from scratch. Then you need to mine precious gold from the deformable pixel terrain in order to buy more and better ships, soldiers, weapons, digging tools, and deployable defenses. Use these assets to defend your disembodied brain and to destroy or bankrupt your opponent!

Control your team of remote bodies either directly or let the friendly AI do your bidding through real-time strategy elements built into the game. Play up to four players in split screen -- 2 vs. 2 players, or all four cooperatively against the computer. Eventually, play the campaign missions together with friends as well!

The 2D sidescroller pixel graphics coupled with an extremely detailed physics simulation makes for a mix of nostalgia and surprising gameplay. Rich, hand painted artwork throughout and a chiptune metal soundtrack sets the mood for some tactical carnage!

Dyson

Company: Rudolf Kremers and Alex May (London, London United Kingdom)
Game Website: http://www.dyson-game.com

Description:
Dyson is a real-time strategy game about self-replicating mining machines in an asteroid belt. You must ensure your survival by colonising other asteroids in the belt and eradicating the other mining machine types that have the same goal.

The mining machines, or seedlings, can band together to create structures called Dyson Trees, which then manufacture more seedlings. They can also build defence trees to protect asteroids.

The game’s abstract, procedurally-generated visuals and ambient soundscapes lend it a relaxing atmosphere that belies its eventually frantic gameplay. As seedling numbers increase, gigantic armies of 400 or more seedlings can be fighting for control of important asteroids.
